Seeing God in the midst of my Emergency!

This week I had to have an emergency surgery to remove my last ovary. I started out in pain and ended up beingĀ  taken to the emergency room and my ovary which had a cyst on it ruptured and twisted. It was scary but I thank God for his protection!

While talking about all that had happened to my Mom on the phone my eight year old Weston looked sad. I asked him what was wrong and he said “Mom, I don’t understand why God let you get sick he was in control.” My husband and I talked to him and reminded him that we live in a sin cursed world and bad things do happen. We also assured him that God is in control and he works everything out for the good.

Roman 8:28~

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Weston asked us then “What good things came out of this?” These are the things I told him!

  • Our family got to experience God’s protection and grace.
  • We were blessed by people who love us with dinner, calls, messages and emails.
  • Luther got to spend time at home with us and I was blessed once again with the reminder of what a great husband I have.
  • I got taken care of and hopefully will feel better because of it!

Thank God for young minds that ask us these questions. I honestly probably wouldn’t have thought of all the many things God has worked together for good in this situation with out him! God has blessed us beyond measure and I am thankful for all the many people he has put in my life!

I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. (Psalm 9:1)

I pray that I will always praise God no matter what the situation! I know he is in control and is working for my good. Thank you God for continuing to show me your love no matter what is going on!

    Hi Mindy~
Leave it to God to help us understand more about Him and how He’s working in our lives through the simple question of a child! I’m so glad you were able to get to the hospital in time to avoid further complications.

God’s blessings for quick and thorough healing!
